Does a comcast digital cable box recieve analog cable without having to have digital cable service.Just Analog

Yes. I have Analog cable, but Digital Boxes. And it's Comcast. They don't even have Analog Boxes anymore to easy to steal pay channels with them.

Usually the cable company shuts off the digital cable box. I would guess that it would not work without having digital service through Comcast because the box would have to be turned on in their systems.

The only reason you need a box is for pay channels. Otherwise you could just use your cable ready tv. Way back when they used to have cable boxes for non cable ready TVs. I think Comcast got rid of them to try to get people to go digital.
