I've had mine on now going on 3 years and its the same as the day I got it.. Every now and then unplug it for about 5 min's and your ok!! Your friend from Tennessee...ROB

No, that doesn't really matter. the performance will stay the same. as time goes on sometimes your internet connection will become slow. if this does happen you can turn the modem off and then turn it back on. this will fix that. I found this out through the internet company.

the only reason for leaving the modem on for a few days after you get dsl is to "train" it.

it tests the noise to speed ratios of your phone line(s) and acts accordingly to give you the best possible experience.

i leave mine on all the time and it does not make any difference at all. i just don't feel like reaching behind it to turn it off.
