Really Fake!

Yes it is scripted and the moves are stunts, but they do get hurt.

If someone is hurt and needs to have time to heal, usually the will ge beat up in a special scene to create future rivalries.

"The history of WWE dates back to the early 1950s when it was founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1952 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC). It underwent numerous name changes throughout the years, from World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) to World Wrestling Federation (WWF) to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and currently to simply WWE in 2011.

WWE is the largest professional wrestling company in the world. It has promoted some of the most successful wrestlers and storylines, and featured some of the most iconic and significant matches and moments in the history of the sport. WWE currently airs several high-profile programs such as Raw and SmackDown in more than 150 countries, hosts 12 pay-per-view events a year including WrestleMania, and holds approximately 320 live events a year throughout the world. In 2014, WWE launched the first ever 24/7 streaming network which will eventually showcase the entire WWE Library.[1]''

The question should be which PART is fake and real? What's reality?

It's quite possible too that other sports are rigged. (see article "Are NBA Games Rigged?" below)

Pro Wrestling Is Storytelling.

It must be scripted for stories to be interesting.

They work hard in the gym to lift each other.

They train hard to understand wrestling psychology

The ring is made of plywood, a thin mat, and canvas to cover, shock springs, ropes covered in tape, steel [heavy ***] steps.

Pro Wrestling includes a little of every industry on screen: From fights to dancing to soap opera twists to partial nudity to games shows to talk shows to job evaluations.

There's always something for everyone. Not every week is spectacular, but that's because the older you get the more you realize.

It's just entertainment. Pro Wrestling is just about the only industry that gets this debate on if it's fake or not (aside from movie magic).

It depends on how you look at it.
Most of it is predetermined and punches are fake but just because you know how to land without being hurt to bad after a suplex doesn't mean it isn't going to be bad in the long term because it still does damage.
And of course there are moves that no matter how you look at it are life threatening like when the undertake threw mankind of the top of the hell in a cell.
But just because a lot of its fake doesn't mean it's not entertaining.

WWE is not fake but well planned and scripted. Before the weekly shows and specials a pannel of directors sit and write clearly what to happen and who should win and even how

OK let me explain this as best as I can.

The matches are pre-determined. That means that they know who is going to win long before the match starts. So if that makes it fake then it's fake.

At the same time, in my opinion, these people have to work darn hard to stay in shape and to execute these moves without majorly hurting each other ever week. So from that perspective it is real.

Have you ever watched a high school wrestling match. Exciting for the kid in the match but it could put everyone else to sleep. They figured that out a long long time ago and decided to spice it up to make it more interesting (sell more tickets) but to do that they had to stage what was going on otherwise people would get hurt too easily and the show would only last 1 week and then would have to shut down for the next 2 to 3 months while everone recovered.

So is it pre-determined yes, it absolutely is. does that make it fake... Not to me.
