Blood diamonds!?

I am in the jewelery business and there's a movie coming out soon about the so called blood diamonds from Sierra Leone in South Africa and I'd like to know how you feel about that if you're aware of the situation.

Yeah, I've heard about this and I plan to see it. Don't get me wrong, I like shiny objects, but diamonds aren't a good thing. Why is it that they cost so much? Who says a tiny rock is worth a million dollars or more? I've heard that terrorist organizations are funded through the sale of diamonds. Plus it's sexist too, like Kobe getting out of the dog house with his wife because he bought a huge purple diamond for her.

THIS LAND HAS BEEN PILLAGED BY OUTSIDERS FOR YEARS. DE BEERS WHICH IS THE LARGEST OUTFIT IN AFRICA HAS BEEN TAKING ADVANGAGE OF THIS FOR YEARS. IN ONE RESPECT IS SAY IT IS CAPTIALISM AT IT'S FINEST. CHEAP LABOR, WANTED PRODUCT AND HIGH RESALE. YOU CAN'T BEAT IT. BUT AT THE SAME TIME DIAMONDS ARE ONLY A NECESSITY FOR CERTAIN THINGS. THE FACT THAT ANYONE DIES FOR A PIECE OF JEWELRY AND BARLEY PROFITS FROM IT IS WRONG. ASK THE OWNER OF DE BEERS OR ANY OF IT'S EXECUTIVES IF THEY WOULD HAVE A BRING YOUR KID TO WORK DAY AND GO TO AFRICA FOR A DAY IN THE MINES. THEY WOULD PROBABLY DIE OF SOMETHING CONTRACTED BY POOR WORK CONDITIONS, AN ACCIDENT OR ANOTHER RANDOM ACT OF JUSTICE. I LIKE DIAMONDS BUT WHEN IS ENOUGH, ENOUGH. JUST A THOUGHT.

I wouldn't want to buy the diamonds at all. There's too much suffering in the world and I don't want to encourage more for a piece of decoration.
