I was born and reared in the United States, and I must say I do not recognize this country for the life of me!
For my first 30 years or so, it was a country which clearly separated church and state, had civil liberties, rule of law, control over its military, and honest elections. We didn't have celebrities for politicians like rural areas of India where people can't read, nor did we have children learning 3 or 4 languages in class instead of their course material because of educating illegal immigrants. Our deficits and spending were in line with our value to the world, and life was good.
I tell you, I do not even recognize this place now.

Home sweet home, I always miss my hometown or my country I've been here for more than two years now. I miss home and I wish to go back but I can't.

To me home is always the town where I grew up. Even though I moved to a different state and have lived here 24 years, home is where I grew up.
I haven't been home for a year since I have to be here for therapy on my hip. Maybe Columbus Day.

I have never moved to a new country... i have lived in the same state around the same little towns my whole life so i dont know what that would be like... for me moving to a new house can be excititng but it can be sad as well because of the memories in the house.

I just moved from state to state; from New York to CA. At first I was homesick. Now I do not think I could ever go back.
I do think it is hard to adjust, especially if you come from another country. It is true though, if you stay somewhere long enough, it is never the same when you go back.

My definition of "home" : the place(s) where I leave part of my heart. Not necessarily just one but multiple places. Perhaps because I am very uncomfortable with stagnation as a concept in general (i.e. "settling down in one place") , I can only envision myself having multiple homes in multiple countries each equally welcoming and warm. So to answer your question, yes, with minor modification, home(s) will always be home(s).

Yes I moved from one of the communist countries. Never missed it, never, though I've spent most of my life there. America has been my home for over 20 years. I have never come back since then.
God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
