I asked this same question on yahoo answers. The best answer I got was a reference to this website:
http://www.ultimate-cosmetics.com/beauty/skin_disorders/acne-blackheads-home-remedies.htm
It has more than 40 home-remedies for acne treatment.

One of the treatments that I tried from this site worked instantly. All I did was to mix milk with nutmeg and apply it on my back and face before I went to bed (smells nice!!!). When I woke up the next morning, it was totally clear! I had been trying for years to get rid of the acne, even going to a dermatologist. Nothing worked for me, but this simple and inexpensive method worked overnight! No lie!

Also just wash your face when you wake up in the morning and before you go to sleep (I use a product called Biore Ice Cleanser, and it seems to keep it down). And be sure to eat a healthy diet, lots of fruits and vegies!

I hope this helps you. Good luck!

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Hi there. Retin A cream was produced originally for acne and it's scaring. I used to get Retinova cream on private prescription for beauty reasons, but I think it has now been withdrawn. It cost about £25 a tube, but lasted for 6 months after the initial results were achieved. It basically 'peels' off the top layer of skin, but slowly - not like an acid peel, would never try that one! I now buy retin A cream off the net. online pharmacies I think they're called. They seem to be the cheapest (around £15 a tube) as some sites charge a fortune. I hope this has been useful to you?

Use a face wash that has witch hazel and tea tree oil in it, or just get some tea tree oil and put a few drops in a sink full of water and wash your face with it morning and night. Try to avoid squeezing your spots as you will just be re-infecting them. If nothing else works the doctor can prescribe a low-dose antibiotic which should clear up the problem. In the meantime, make sure you clean your face morning and night, drink plenty of water, and try to avoid smoking as this starves the skin of oxygen and makes you more prone to spots. Good luck

I would say if you have sensative many things will not help your problem at all. I use Neutrogena, it really works wonders. First you want to get just a facial cleanser, an astregent, and a moisterizer. After your face clears up keeping useing everything that i just listed, but add toner to your face also. Don't forgot to apply sunscreen if you are outdoors alot. Good luck. Oh! Don't pop your pimples and wash your face 2 times a day.

If you are wanting something that costs a little more money, go for proactiv. its the best on the market!!!!! If you want something closer to $10 or less, go for St. Ives apricot scrub. It is very good, and has small beads that really help with acne. I also bought this mask called mint jalos or something like that and it blew my mind away. It cost 6 and it said that it would take away blackheads right from the pore. I was like, sure whatever. I put it on my face and nose, and in 15 min, my blackheads were gone!!!!!! I cant believe it! Try it!!!!!!!

you can rub your WARM urine or family mum sis bro dada onto face and put warm rag over it for 30 mins. this will drain out the acne repeat for every eveing month. you will see a marked difference for the better.

the urea in the urine when warmed breaks down to deplete the chromosomes in acne which embeds in skin.

t tree oil is good. also try sudacream, it is an anti inflamatiry cream for exzema and nappy rash. try also watching ur diet, spend a week cutting out junk and see if there is a change, and continue cutting out certain stuff until u see a pattern in what is triggering it.
