i am in my early 40s. my period stays for about 7 days. my period ended on the 7th day, but on the 9th day i started to bleed again? i have been having some light cramps which i usually dont get. is this a sign of menopause or something serious?

40 is quite early for menopause, unless you are smoking. I've read that one of the first signs or menopause is change in your periods. But there may be other reasons for your irregularity, such as ovarian cysts, etc. I would suggest you see your OB/GYNE to find out if what you're experiencing is perimenopause (phase before menopause actually takes place), and at the same time make sure it's not something serious.

Dont torture yourself by second guessing. Make an appt with your GYN for answers. Your age is certainly not to early to be peri-menopausal. You'll be fine !

Menapause makes you stop bleeding. But you very well could be going into pre-menapause and your period will get all wacky. Do not worry! But if it will make you feel bettter maybe it is time for a check up, wouldn't hurt

this happended to me and when i went to the gyno he told me my hormone levels were off. it could be age (i am 39) he prescribed some birth control pills and now i am fine. don't be scared, go to the doctor.
