To all the ignoramus doofus heads, bats are not blind! They have limited vision and bounce sound waves in order to create an audio-visual represented image of the world which they can interpret but we have little understanding of.
They have a much better way of 'viewing' the environment in which they live than we would have if we tried to live their lives.
We say 'blind as a bat' because the human race thinks itself superior. Bats probably think we are slow and moronic with limited ways of interpreting the world!

Bats are blind. They use echo location to sense where things are. This works by emitting a high frequency signal and hearing how it bounces off objects and back t the bat's ears and how long it takes for the sound to return.

I am not so sure. Bats are said to be blind at daytime however they see at nights. Since humans mostly use daytime for their activities and subsequently will need their sight the most at that time, at nights, since we are not bats, we definately wont see any clearer hence the term.

Bats see by using sonar waves, which they transmit and then receive back in those large sensitive ears. They are blind, they hunt and navigate using sonar as an aircraft uses radar in bad weather or in the dark.

bats can't see, so they use echoloaction or whatev to "see" things. but i guess until people knew that, they figured the bats were just flying around blind

This is because at night a bats eyesight is hugely impaired.
So much so, they rely on sonar sound emmited from their mouths to help them navigate in flight through the dark to avoid flying into a tree. Their hearing ability compensates for their poor vision.
