There is a law well postulated that says "It is imposible to obtain something for nothing"This law is congruent whith 1st and second law of thermodynamics. And has never been shown by experiment that it could be broken.
Hence to obtain Energy a price must be paid. Its really very vely simple.
The same applies to the laws of motion= in order for a body to move it must lose mass.So the price of the motion is mass
loss.
The sun transfers some of its radiation power on earth , it does so by paying a price=It loses mass.
it is impossible to increase the velocity of a moving car without losing mass. The mass lost is the fuel used.
It is impossible to accelerate a mass to the speed of light without a tremendous mass loss. The faster a body moves the faster it must lose mass.
If there is anything given for free in Physics like mass increase with velocity , It has to be wrong in accordance to the above law.

There is, but only temperarity and undetectably. They are called "virtual particles" created out of nothing! The only catch is that they have a (literally) immeasurably short lifetime. This may have to do with the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle or something like that, but I'm not sure.

As far as we are concerned, yes, the sun's energy is practically free, as is the wind. However if you mean is there any was we can get energy out of something without putting energy into it, (the dream of every electrical physicist), no.

Even if there is a source of 'free' energy, the equipment needed to convert it to a useful form would not be free and would require maintenance that would not be free.
