Probably, everything becomes obsolete eventually. However, so long as there remain advertisers willing to buy ad space, newspapers will continue to print. There may come a day when newspapers find a way to deliver their product via the web (and retain their advertisers) and news"papers" may go away. But, whatever happens, news by way of the written word will be around for a long, long time to come. The broadcast medium cannot afford to present news nearly so in depth.
