Hi. Well i do swimming and i think it had built me up fairly powerfully, so much so even my dad said the other day, after i went football / soccer training with him he said "your built more powerfully than i thought you were, looking at you, you were bigger and more powerful"
im 5ft 11 and 11 and 3 quarter stones if that give you any indication
anyway.......so with swimming im fine and can do lengths and as you probably know top swimmers are extremely muscley (not me lol, but just saying swimming build muscle) and am good at swimming
Anyway in my football (im in england so thats soccer in the usa) game today i was just absolutely naff! i just could hardly do anything. But to add to this tho, i did have a bit on my mind at the time and i think it was putting me off my game
So tired, worn ou easily and not much endurance
So why is that?! why am i "fit" in swimming, but un fit in running / soccer???
Thanks for your help i appreciate it!

Everyone has his/her own special talent, whether it's in the sports or in the arts.
Think of it this way: some artists are sculptors or photographers, right? Should they be expected to excel in watercolor or charcoal? No, because every artist has a particular niche.
Same with athletes. I doubt that pro baseball players should be expected to do as well in basketball, for example.

Because your body is more used to swimming. People sometimes say they have hit an exercise "plateau", which can happen if they do the same thing every day (like walk three miles at the same pace or something). If they try to do five miles or a faster pace the next day, their body is challenged more than usual, and they'll feel winded.
Once your body gets used to playing soccer, it won't be difficult. You are using muscles that you don't normally use, so the body is adjusting.

different sports use different muscle groups. as a swimmer, you have a strong back and shoulders, but you may not have strong legs and thighs, which football players have. also, as a swimmer, you have endurance, but swimming is much different than running!
either way, youre probably in good shape because you already do sports, so i say if you love football, just keep at it. practice is the only thing that will make you get better.
just to make you feel better (and to answer your question), check out this funny commercial...i think you might like it!

Swimming is a better activity as you are the drive. You are not 'motivated' to go beyond your limits. That way you can pace yourself and last longer.
Besides that non-aquatic sports are much more 'shocking' to your system.

They use some different muscles. Almost all exercise can complement other muscle groups than the main one you are exercising so keep swimming, but do some sprints and long distance running for soccer.

You can build muscles for strength and for quickness and stamina, but one will rule out the other (depending on your excersize). In American football, those 400 lbs linemen can bench press their weight, but can't run either fast or far compared to many of the other players.

ok so by the way this sounds....your swimming is helping you arobically....like getting in shape but not all the way....if you arent in shape for soccer then you have a long way to go....because as we all know soccer doesnt require much physicall fitness...it just requires good acting skills so you can pretende you are hurt....(lame sport)....but on a serious note....try running on a tredmil or pumping iron...

because swimming isn't as hard as continueous running... in swimming you stop and go right... well in it's non-stop... that way in wrestling.... i was a wrestler in high school and could wrestle all 3 rounds.... which is a very hard thing to do... but i couldn't run a whole lot...

being an aspiring martial artist, i know that there are various factors in the body. training everything is key. swimmers may have endurance but they may not be able to handle the heat of running, the intensity, etc
