Well, I think you're both right and wrong. We should equal when it comes to pay, opportunity, government and such but a man in most cases is still physically stronger than a woman. And the men who hit women generally do it out of insecurity. They wish to exert dominance over someone and that is wrong. I don't think a woman should hit a man either unless it is self defense.

Because men and women are, much as the feminists hate to admit it, DIFFERENT!

A man hitting a woman is like a man hitting a child, in that neither are as strong as they are. Men evolved to be the stronger protectors of the species, to protect women and children, and so there has always been the underlying belied that hitting women or children is wrong, simply because our minds are wired that way.

Is it okay for a man to hit a man HALF HIS SIZE? Then it's not okay for a man to hit a woman half his strength. Quite frankly, except under very specific and extreme circumstances, it's NEVER okay.

And yes, under certain circumstances I believe there is justification that a woman should be slapped back, however, "turn the other cheek" has much better long term results.

All boiling down to your last statement...hitting each other is unacceptable behavior & shows lack of self control in dealing with anger issues.

But as far as equality goes...men & women are equal, not in physicality or even mentality...each has their own talents, both provide a balance...the idea of equality came with the issues of being paid for a job done equally well by either sex...this, even today, is a painstaking ladder that women still must pass broken rungs to climb, though it's muuuuch better that 20 yrs. ago.

In a soul sense, too, we are equal in spirit form...neither being greater than the other, yet together create balance.

And just for my dear gay friends...of course, I am talking about the male side/female side of character as well.

Although there are some benefits to equality...I didn't vote for it...I love being a stay at home mother who cooks cleans takes care of the family...but slapping and hitting is not ok...at all...not if you respect eachother...I don't see it as being an equality issue more of a respect issue.

I don't think slapping is ever OK, but most men I know won't hit women, even if she hits them first. I slapped my husband once (a long time ago, not proud of it, I feel horrible), he is twice my size, so I am glad he didnt smack me.

Usually when I get slapped by a woman, I usually end up giving her 50 bucks at the end of my 30 minutes.

Though I heartily concur with your sentiments, does this stop me from giving her love taps on the **** while playing Tarzan and Jane?
