Politics is more complex than poker even though poker is a very complicated game. You have more possible options to choose in politics and the uncertainty level is often higher.

Saddam went broke the last game they played. He just about got broke during Dessert Storm. Saddam has been saving up his bankroll all them years just to lose it all to Bush. It was kinda like an old west poker game. Saddam showed down his Royal asx, then Bush called him out and said he was a lieing cheat. Then Bush proceeded for his pistola. Saddam took off to hide in a bomb shelter. Bush gathered up his posse and went lookin to string this lieing cheat up. Saddam might have been the better poker player, but Bush had the bigger pistola.

no you got it all wrong

saddam called bush's bluff by going ahead with trying to sign oil deals with europe and russia, and try to get out of the sanctions.

saddam forced bush's hand so to speak. if bush hadn't invaded iraq, saddam would have contineud making oil deals, started selling more oil, and the US companies would have been shut out of the deal

Politics is more complex. No rules.

Saddam is the better player. He even had a card with his picture on it.
