how does a weak co-dependent woman finally leave the man that she loves with all her heart but deep down knows that he is destroying her both mentally and self esteem wise?

It's not easy. I've heard from woman who have been in your situation that it's a matter of getting all your strength, and leaving quickly, without hesitation and completely determined to move forward and leaving everything behind. And yes, they are much happier now! Good luck to you hun.

Abuse, whether mental or physical, is still abuse. If you can make it out there on your own, leave. Would you rather stay until there is absolutely nothing left of you? This is not love. This is dependence.
Go out there and do something to better yourself and take your pride back. You deserve better than this.

key word is Weak. u don't have any confidence in yourself. listen to ur words.. You love him with ALL your heart? that is AWESOME. that is WORTH SOMETHING. u have to remember that.. stop thinking that ur inability to change him is a direct reflection of ur love not being good enough..that's not so. the problem here is him, his inability to appreciate Your Love. that is something precious, something not easy to find, and he is treating it like nothing. instead of believing him..why not believe in yourself. something that can be positive, healthy. you already know you have the capability to Love someone...so now u need to find someone who will do the same for you...*but* ALSO affirms, validates, and supports you, makes u happy, makes u feel cared for, secure, and safe. u have to keep all those expecations in mind for whoever you get with...u owe it to urself. if u keep working on urself, ur appearance, ur mind, ur knowledge, ur ability to maintain positive, healthy relationships w/ friends, family, and even strangers, u will feel good about urself, and See your worth. u work on urself to be a Wonderful, Strong Woman, and u will see that u deserve a Wonderful, Strong Man. don't take any less than that, and u will filter out any negatives (like this current guy), and spend time working on something Good, Positive, and Healthy. good luck, and take care of you!
