Okay, for a girl I know a little and I'll take a jab at this one.
'94 Dauer 962 LeMans 0-60 in 2.6
2000 Chevy Camero ZL1 Concept 0-60 in 2.7
2000 Dodge Hennessey Viper Venom 800TT 0-60 in 2.7
'99 Leblanc Caroline 0-60 in 2.7

I wanted to guess the Maserati, Lamborghini, Porsche and of corse the Shelby Cobra, but I'm pretty sure those are in the top. The top speed is a hard one for I know that the Koenigsegg CCR goes 271mph, but the Renault Espace F1 goes 310mph, just not as quick at the 0-60.

Those would be three jet engine powered contraptions that went insanely fast in a straight line on dry salt lakes.
Or did you mean cars with internal combustion engines (that went insanely fast in a straight line on dry salt lakes)?
Or perhaps the fastest production cars?
And are you only interested in top speed, or does acceleration and handling enter into your definition of fast?
I know it's not an answer, but I kind of lost interest in the land speed record when the cars started looking like F16 s with the wings ripped off.
