Whoa, everyone! To be literal here, a "point" of land extending into a body of water could also be a cape. In fact, I'd argue that's probably the answer we're actually looking for here. It is precisely how I'd define a cape if I had to. A peninsula does not have to be a "point", on the other hand.

BTW--I teach this very stuff to my Geography students!
