Maybe you should try just talking to your neighbor. You chould work out an arrangement that they turn in down past a certain time, change music types past a certain time, etc. It may simply be that they do not realize it is bothering anyone. If those ideas do not work, then the carpet idea is my second choice. Good Luck

It has to be annoying to say the least! First of all, I would tell him that maybe he could quiet it down some, because you cant hear your own music or TV, or can not fall asleep. If he does not seem to care after that, I would call the police in your neighborhood after 10:00pm, and tell them about the noise! You don't even have to give your name! I'm pretty sure there is a noise law after 10:00 at night. I have done it before when my neighbors are inconsiderate! Some people just don't care about others or respect their space! Hope this helps! Good luck!

OMG – I totally understand where you are coming from. We just moved into what we thought was a great neighborhood, but we’ve since found out that we have the neighbors from hell!!! Literally. I think they have about two families living in the home, which is directly in back of us. Our bedroom window faces their backyard. I think they have about six small kids in the home and they allow them to get up before 7:30am on the weekends and they are SO loud and noisy. They also don’t get to sleep until after 11pm. My husband has gone over to talk with them and that still hasn’t helped. I called to police just to see what my rights were and they suggested that I call them next time it becomes a nuisance and report it. The only thing they will do is file a formal complaint, come out to the home and let the tenants know they need to quiet down. We are considering moving…Good Luck

He is your neighbour, therefor you should tread carefully, because you do not want to start a feud that will just, run and run forever!!. So Play some loud music ,one night or have a barbecue outside, with some friends one day, and to look polite to your neighbour call round during your little soiree, and inquire from him/her whether or not the music you yourself are playing or the fact that you are entertaining guests, is a cause for his concern and reasure him/her that you will promise to keep the noise levels down, in repect of him/her. This way it looks like you really respect your neighbours privacy and seclusion and at the same time, planting a seed in his mind to show you the same respect!!. Crafty huh!!. Never antagonise him/her it only makes matters worse for the both of you. Besides your the smart one...Right!!.

I like the idea of rolling him up in a carpet. I have just the carpet. It is Turkish and got wet once and now it stinks. Maybe we can pick up my neighbor along the way. He suffers from the same noise illness (diabolical possession) also. How soon are ya gonna do it?

Usually if they play music loud after 11:00 the police can be called. If it's before 11:00 you just have to grin and bear it. Have you tried fighting fire with fire? Some night when he's quiet, if that ever happens, turn your music up super high!!

Turn about is always fair play.Find out when they are sleeping and make your own noise.Give them a taste of their own medicine..,if the music is lousy do what they did in Amsterdam I think it was..,To keep homeless people from sleeping in the park at night they blasted Barry Manilow on the loud speakers. No more homeless people sleep there.Good luck!

Just talk to him... Talking is the best way to try to solve a problem. Is he aware that his noise bothers you? He may not know that it bothers you... Try to be civil and I don't recomend that you roll him up in a carpet and throw him off a bridge LOL...

You should call the cops at 11:30ish tell them about a noise complaint. You can ask them to keep it annoymous, too. OR, before that, you could ask your neighbour, in a civil manner, if he could keep it down. Maybe he doesn't know it bothers you.
