A direct parallel may be drawn to the current conflict in the Middle East.
As it was during the Spanish (and Portuguese) Inquisition; if you weren't Catholic (or Christian at all) then you were arrested as a heretic, tortured (fingernails torn out, stretched on the rack, hot brands applied on your body and into your orifices, submerged in water until you almost, but not quite drowned, skin torn off your body in strips, had your fetus cut out of your womb while you watched; if you were a pregnant woman.....all for the good of your soul, of course), and once a confession was extracted from you.......you were then hung by the neck until you almost died, revived, disemboweled, then for the piece de resistance.........had each of your hands and feet attached to 4 horses or oxen and (while you were still conscious, mind you) ripped apart.....then beheaded.
Segue now to the current day Middle East where in some countries if you are a woman and not wearing a veil men will throw acid into your face, rape, torture and kill you, if you are a man and do not have a beard you are fined, beaten or killed, if you are born a girl your family is sent condolence cards on the unfortunate luck of giving birth to a girl child, where girls aren't allowed to be educated (Afghan rebels are currently bombing schools that dare to teach girls and women), where men eat first, then the children, then the dogs, THEN, (if there is any food left) the women, where all western women are considered whores and those taken prisoner of war have their heads cut off on camera if you are a man and shot in the back of the head assassin style if you are a woman (some fundamentalist Islamic groups believe if you cut the head off a woman the devil will leap out of the neck stalk).
Now look at your mother, your sister, your female relatives AND your grandmother and picture how you would feel if such things were done to them and you had to just stand by and watch without doing a thing.........
Then, ask yourself again, if the Spanish Inquisition was fun.

Only if you were a masochist. The Inquisition was horrible, especially in Spain. Anyone who was accused of not being a good Christian could be tortured into confessing. The forms of torture were terrible, ranging from simple thumbscrews to stretching people on the rack. Most people confessed, just to stop the pain. Once they did, they were subject to losing their property and being killed. It was also used to determine whether a person was a witch. Judges were sent out across Europe to try to find out who was a witch. They were even given a book put out by the church to determine this (The Malfactos Malforum). There was a mania of witchhunting--in one German town, all but one man were killed as witches. Many people who were killed were simply people who were outside the norm--healers, old women, etc. This eventually spread into the U.S., and became the Salem witch trials.
So don't think it was a picnic.

The Spanish Inquisition was incredibly un-fun for Jews and Moors who were tortured and forced to leave their homes.
Your question is a little like "Was the Holocaust fun? Was slavery fun? Is life in a gulag one endless party?" Yikes.

Wow you have to be kidding if you think that's looks fun.If your serious you have a problem and need help. People were tortured and killed because of what they believed in.I don't know how you expect a real answer anyway since no one alive now was alive then.

You'll have to ask the Spanish government. If you knew anything about that you would know that they were in charge of it, not the Church. Let us know when you find something out.
