I have tried Mothballs, Possum Off, my own mixture of garlic/chilli. I don't want to move them as this will be fatal for them. I don't want to remove the plants either.

Our neighbours used to moan about the possums eating their plants but they never touched ours. We came to the conclusion that it was because we put food out for them. Sometimes bread and honey or molasses,sometimes other things but our roses remained un-nibbled. They became very tame with us too.

Buy some plastic snakes from a toy store and place them in the area where the possums have been eating the plants. You will find they are a great deterrent for birds also

Opposums are scavengers, which mean they will eat everything and anything they consider to be food. Sorry, no plant will keep them out. I've heard that mothballs scattered about will help, but I'm not sure about that either. Call your local game warden...he can set traps and remove them. No saying they won't come back, but it is worth a shot...especially for your precious tomatoes and peppers!

Usually they are looking for cat food and bugs.are you sure its possums.....
get a dog.
or call animal services in your area to see about relocating them. they will have babys and then youll have ALOT more and they will keep multiplying.
youcould also go out at night an dspray them with the hose, they will leave and youl lhave to keep doing it but they will get the hint.

Use a trap. They make for some good vittles.
