I spent a lot of time yesterday 8/8/06 trying to figure out the solution to the contest so I could submit it to be in the running for the prize. But I never could come up with an answer. I thought it would be more obvious.

The Nation Mall was the puzzle on the desk. The capitol building was the last piece. So I was thinking Capitol Reef National Park in Utah that has a capitol dome shaped rock. That was the only tie in with the word reef I could come up with.

There was a shipwreck of the SS Republic off the coast of Savannah, Georgia where millions of dollars worth of gold and silver coins have been recovered that were minted before the civil war. One of the coins was the "Walking Liberty" which could be the symbol laid out. But the closest reef was Gray's reef and it wasn't really the cause of the shipwreck. It was a hurricane. However, the reef is considered "one of America's greatest treasures."

However, I didn't submit either of those answers yesterday and today 8/9/06, it already says the contest is closed. I'm so disappointed because I spent probably close to five hours cumulatively on all those games, trying to get clues only to be unable to submit an obvious answer in the end.

I guess at least ten people did and they will be at the finale.

I thought the Museum of American History in the Smithssonian. That is where the original Star Spangle Bannar from the song is displayed.
