skin cells are produced every 28 days, so that's how long it should take unless it's really deep.

as for getting rid of them, try mederma scar treatment and remember to moisturize.

good luck!

One winter my skin went through a horrible transition period. The corners of my mouth dried up really bad and scabbed up around the sides. It looked like I’d been eating chocolate. I went to the health food store (Natural or Co-op) and got some pure liquid vitamin E. It was a miracle. Within one week the scabs and the blemishes were gone. I would apply it heavily at night because it’s pretty greasy and it did wonders! Try it. I’ve since come to use it on pimples, scraps, scratches, cuts, blemishes, discolored skin, etc.

I'm not sure how long they last but one way to get rid of them is to buy a microdermabrasion kit at a drugstore or online like the avon ones or olay or neutrogena.. those all work well. and after about 2 times of using it they will be almost completely gone. Microdermabrasion aslo helps to keep you from getting pimples and wrinkles and stuff.
