Do you love him? Is he a good man? God loves him as much as he loves any Catholic, Protestant, Hindu, Budhist, or any other of His children. Will he let you be who you need to be? That is the most important thing in a marraige. If he can't accept you for who you are, then dump him. If he accepts you as you are and you accept him as he is, GO FOR IT!!! You don't find that very often in this world. That is the kind of relationship that represents the union of Christ and His church, not the paper stamp weddings given by ordained ministers and justices of the peace.

Yeshua be with you,

Cal-el

Just marry him. My aunt is a Lebanese Muslim and she married a Mexican Catholic. At first my grandmother was furious, and refused to speak to my aunt, but after a while, they warmed up to my uncle because they realised that he was a good man. I can understand why you are worrying, but you need to think about what is more important, your love for this man or the opinion of your family and freinds. Perhaps you should speak with your family and freinds about this, you never know, they could end up being okay with it.

How muslim is he? I'm not trying to sound rude, but, will you be required to dress and act like a muslim wife in company of his friends. The culture is very different. The woman is a bit low down in the muslim world.

My sister in law married an egyptian man, they are now getting a divorce because she didn't follow his beliefs, and didn't want to change. I hope if you do marry him, that it doesn't end in divorce, just make sure both of you will be able to adapt and respect each other's life style (moral values, religion, beliefs, etc) It was really hard for her because after they married, he even wanted her to change the way she dressed, they couldn't agree on anything, especially on how to raise their daughter. Good luck!!

Love has no boundaries,as you already know. The best to you both. By example you can put the tongue waggers to rest. By example you can show others difference makes no difference when it comes to true love.Yes you may have issues to work through like anyone else, letting each other be who they are and accepting them strengthens the bonds. like the saying goes, As long as the ties that bind you together are stronger than those that will tear you apart all will be well.

It would actually be harder for me to introduce a man of another relgion, rather than a man of another race to my family. I think relgion causes more problem than race, so I probably wouldn't marry him, knowing either him or myself would have to give up our own respective relgion in raising any future children.

But this all depends on how much you value relgion. If you're borderline apathethic either way then go for it!!!

Go for it! You deserve to be happy. The Catholic religion was developed to keep people miserable so that they would keep coming to the church for guidance. Go ahead and get married!
