Although I love some of the shows on tv, I gotta agree that yeah most of it is trash. If only the other people in the world would own up 2 this fact sooner maybe then we could do something more productive about it.It's not all stupid and a waste of time(the news) but, yeah there's alot of trash going around and its not good 4 the environment. What do you think could be better to fill our minds? (I do have some ideas on what this could be)

I agree with you that most of it is. There are some good things to watch, but a lot of what is on the big networks is garbage.
I think watching TV is like trying to eat a balanced diet. You can have junk food sometimes, but you shouldn't make it your main staple food, and I see a lot of people who do make garbage TV shows their main source of entertainment. There are good things to watch, such as documentaries, and things that expand your mind, but a steady diet of game shows, reality shows, and American Idol isn't really good for you, I don't think.
My mother often tells me about how it was when she was growing up. People read, or did crafts, or sat and talked in the evenings, rather than just letting the blue glow of TV wash over them. I sometimes really wish I had been around then...

I agree, most of what's on TV no days is a waste of time. However, I'm the first to admit that I watch some of that trash. What bothers me is when I settle for something on TV instead of getting up and doing something. I'm trying to curb my TV watching but it's hard.

I agree. What ever happened to the tv shows that a whole family could actually sit down and watch together?

I agree that it is waste of time and most is trash, but I LOVE it and wouldn't want to live without it! I don't think that sitting in front of a computer asking and answering questions from complete strangers is anymore productive! (But I love THAT too).

Do you think spending time here on YAHOO! is such a great way to spend time. Half the questions are "trash" related if not actually profane. So climb down off the soapbox, and ask questions that really need an answer.

Yes I agree, I have mabye one or two shows I'll watch but anyother time the tv is not even on, I'd rather spend time with my kids, read a book, or go to my kickboxing training.

You are sooo right!
All the reality shows and CSI type shows...its really lame! Most of the comedy shows are pushing the envelop too far with their adult content and I'm so tired of hearing the words b**** and a**.
Yeah, nowadays when i watch the boob tube, its usually the food network or making the band 3 and runs house.
