We want our married children to believe we are married for the next 11/2 years or until I am 60. They frown on cohabitation and we don't want to rock the boat. The only other thing we could do is try to find someone to marry us now and turn in the paperwork when I am 60, but that is likely a problem. My fiance is 65. Do other older people who want to live together with a "marriage" certificate find this to be a problem?

I am 65 and please trust me your making more out of this than you need to. You are grown ups and have a right to live your own life.

My Aunt, after losing 2 husbands said never again, she and her significant other have been together 15 years and she is 85.

My brother is 68 and he has been with his same age girlfriend for 8 or 9 years.

Formal marriage is from our age and has little bearing on young people today. This may have to do with your previous husband.

Live your Life and enjoy it while you can. Good Luck!!!!

Why do you have to wait until you are 60 to get remarried?

Once you buy the marriage license, it is only good for 30 days until it runs out and then you have to buy another one. Besides, why would to lie about your marriage if you are not legally married? After all, you are both adults.
