The first thing that comes to my mind because I have never heard or seen the word before is..........A bunch of japenese people in Jamaca. Sitting around singing a bunch of Bob Marley songs getting high. That's just me though

It sounds like it should be the name of an encyclepedia of Japan. Either that or when the time comes that Japan and Jamaica unite as one country.

I think of the word Japonica and that one refers to a plant or tree, the full name of which totally escapes me

First thing that comes to mind is bric-a-brac or pottery/vases made in Japan, say during WW2 or earlier.

??! It makes me think that the word 'Japonica' is being spelt or pronounced wrongly. Japonica normally makes me think of old furniture that's faked up to look Oriental...
