This is the same answer as how to deal with difficult customer

In my experience, there are usually not many difficult customers but rather customer service people or retailing people whom does not listen.

remember, god give us 2 ears and 1 mouth and if we use it in the right proportion, we would go far. this is especially true when we are trying to understand their needs.

Come and think about it logically.

1) why are they your customer ? They are there because they have a need

2) when their needs are not satisfied or understood, it is just a normal reaction of people to become agitated and difficult.

3) most people in retail industry have so much fun in playing and they forgot about knowledge. For eg. when I asked. what is the difference with this laser mouse and another mouse which cost 1/4 the price. ONLY 1 in 7 customer service including Harvey Norman could not even answer me correctly.

So product knowledge and service and procedural knowledge will make you better in dealing with people.

And when you reaches this level, you would be loving to meet difficult customers as they challenges your knowledge and also they do share many of their experience and knowledge with you. You will earn the respect and when they return, they will look for none other than you.

What is the question? To have good customer service, go to a place that treats you well - with respect - smiles at you and treats you like a person who wants to help you.
