In this technological World we could all vote on every issue with the press of a button we the people could be our own Government we would all have a say and a vote on every issue we could do this in the UK and USA we dont need Governments we can Govern ourselves all the people - I am a Doctor of Philosophy - far from being a dumbarse as one of you said - yes there are dumbarses in this World but even you sir a dumbarse yourself deserves a better system than what we call Democracy and Freedom which is the biggest lie and the biggest Con in human HISTORY.

In any Democracy there have to be rules or we would have a country of out of control kids and adults that have no idea how to behave in society. I do believe that the govt takes their control overboard tho. I dont believe in freedom or else I could say what I wanted and not worry about being accused of terrorism or threatening someone when all I meant by what I said is that we should impeach our dictator.

We are controlled all the time in various events, work and play, I don't believe there is such a thing as true freedom. We have to be governed by a set of rules to ensure fair play at the very least. Yes there are far worse places to live and indeed far better places to live, but never to do as you please, unless that is you become a dictator, then you make up the rules you so dislike living under.

The government kills our sons and daughters? That's weird! I thought people volunteered to go into the military! You are a idiot. If you don't appreciate the freedom we have then move somewhere else where there is no freedom at all. I would LOVE to see you come crawling back! I wish you much luck with the govern yourself idea! That would be complete chaos!

Well, it is the best form of government this planet has ever seen. Were the Soviet Union, Facist Germany, Imperial Japan, Islamo Facist states, Cuba and many others a better alternative, I don't think so. Every society needs rules and regulations to protect it's citizens. At least in the US and UK you get to vote for your gov't, say whatever you want about your gov't, assemble freely, etc.

It's for people like you that democracy exists, just try asking such an arsehole question in an undemocratic country, you would be locked away with all the other malcontents. If no political party represents your point of view, then either start your own or don't vote, however if you don't vote, don't complain.

The US left democracy when G W Bush became (was not elected (remember Texas and the chads?)) and we are losing it.
See Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 esp section 132.
Freedom of speech even freedom of thought is being eroded.
G W Bush "You are either with us or against us!"
Unbelievable!

Democracy is not ideal but it is the best anyone has been able to come up with so far.
The fact that we are able to use this site - I bet you couldn't in North Korea or China or a whole host of other countries.
If you come up with a better system of governement be sure to let the rest of us know won't you.

Who would run the country?
Who would set the Agendas?
Oh I see now the Religious Leaders that would curtail rights of all those they don't want to have them..
Please stop pouring out this DRIVEL at least in our Democracy we can change our leaders by election and have free speech.

The Netherlands or Switzerland are the only places left to find true freedom...wish I was born there. I think Thomas Jefferson would be advocating another revolution in America right now.
