Because some people believe in God and they feel that he controls everyone and everything.

Well maybe they feel that God did have something to do with the situation turning out better. I thank God all the time. I guess it depends on if you believe in God or not. I believe in Him and thank Him all the time. I guess if I didn't believe in Him I wouldn't understand why people thanked Him either. But that is why.

When a knife tip came into my cheek (only a quarter inch from my eye), and I wasn't hurt or blind, all I could say was "Thank God."
Some people (such as myself) believe that everything is up to God and that He controls your fate.

Regardless of the situtation you are supposed to give thanks unto the Lord. In the worst if perdicaments and in the best everyday that's all he ask of you that you acknowledge the reason his son was crucified.

Apparently you have never asked him for anything, of importance, if at all. He does listen, and he does answer to those who believe.

because he did make everything in the world and if something good happens to you that is good hes the one who made it happen!!!!!!!
