I'm looking for a real corset. Not one of those fake, flimsy ones. But I still want the corset to look cute.

Yes! There are some really wonderful corset makers out there!

I have the seduction corset from http://www.yosa.com and I love it very much. I've had it for going on five years now, and it's held up quite well.

I haven't ordered from this place yet, but I suspect my next one will be from her. http://www.waspcreations.com/ The owner is a hard-core tightlacer, and makes her corsets sturdy enough to take the abuse of day to day wear.

These are some some wonderfully artistic styles, worth taking a look at. http://www.corset.net/ I like the fact that the models they use are real women (I happen to know one of them.)

Lastly, I don't know anyone who actually has a corset from these folks, but the fact that they offer some of the extras that they do tells me that they probably know what they're doing. http://www.meschantes.com/

Generally speaking, unless you're willing to pay serious rush fees, plan for something like this to take a while to come in. Also, make sure that you have someone help you take your measurements. This is very important, and not something you can do by yourself easily.

Try Fredricks of Hollywood or Victoria Secret. I am sure that Fredricks will have a better selection if you have not already contacted them.

Feeling particularly mashochistic are ya? No, I've seen lots of the fashion ones, but haven't seen any real durable "old timey" types before.

Good luck...
