its not a mimosa

or a butterfly bush, im trying to identify the tree in my front yard it is very skinny hard wood large simple alternating leaves...with white fuzzy ball-shaped blossoms

Cephalanthus occidentalis (button-willow or honey-bells, but around here in Delaware we call it buttonbush, which is the problem with common names -- lol!!) check the link below to Wikipedia and see if that is what you have. My husband got this one for me and says it will definitely get you butterflies and grow to tree height in good conditions. He did landscape architecture for 25 years before doing restoration ecology now.

Mimosa tree or something like that , also there is a bush called the Butterfly Bush, it is nice to have around. mine at my old house attracted hundreds of butterflies. you should get one!

They have butterfly bushes, they aren't trees but they do not look like most shrubs you see. They come in a variety of colors and smell great. I have one in my front yard.
