After 5 months of reporting the water leak, broken dishwasher, useless stove, and leaking ceiling, and no responses from apts. i decided to call the city. They came, inspected, and got the apartments right on it. It was fixed the following day. The next day i recieved a "lock out notice" because of some late charges that dated 3 or 4 months previous. The manager was claiming it was rent. So anyways she made our lives a nightmare...........okay to make a long story short she filed eviction, and when i went to court she didnt show up so the judge dismissed the case. Can she go back and sue me again for the late charges? Or what happens now?

Yes she can. She can go back to court after she gives you a 3-day notice. Expect them to play hard-ball now since the city was involved. I am not saying you were wrong in calling the City. The Apartments see you as a "trouble maker" now. Get your affairs in order. If you owe back rent or late fees work up a payment schedule and give to the Manager for approval. If it is approved, stick to it to the letter or they can file on you again. The original case was dismissed. That does not prevent future cases. I have tenants I have to drag to court every other month.

No she cannot re-file and take you back to court. She didn't show up, so she's screwed. You should find another place. If she tries to take you to court again and she is successful, you have the proof that her case has already been dismissed. So you are free to go wherever. Now that you put a bad taste in the managers mouth, he/she will be aiming to get payback.

I recommend that you find a better place to live where you will be happy
