make nice complements about hair, eyes, etc. offer to help after class. never late, or get in trouble. if u r late once apologize personally. tell them there class is the most import to you. tell u want be art (etc.) teacher too. know his/her birthday. buy them a card or something. ask about their family too.

why would u wanna be? seriously...that's the same thing as saying...how can i be a suck up....but if you're asking why people are calling u a teachers pet...it's just because the teacher sees something in u..that she doesn't see in them.
