Yes. My son got the opportunity to ask the author some questions on as part of of TV news show. He was alive and well and answered the questions with his usual irony. Lemony Snicket is a pen name.

Lemony snicket is a fictional character, daniel handler made him up. He's daniel handlers alter ego. Daniel Handler is the real lemony snicket by the way!

I don't know, but I have all of the Series of Unfortunate Events in Hard Cover. I love them!! I am 14, and outgrowing them... but I can't help it!! I am going to be sooo sad once the 13th book has come out because that is the end! Tell your daughters that they have a great taste in books!! =)
