This is a no brainer for me and has to be Kenny Dalglish, but it would be interesting to hear the views of other Liverpool supporters.
This is for Liverpool supporters, so no Mancs being nobheads !!!

It is difficult to say who is the greatest because of the different roles played but in my opinion it would be something like this
Goalkeeper.....Ray Clemence
Defender.........Alan Hansen
Midfield............Steven Gerrard
Attacker...........Kenny Dalglish
Difficult to leave out Ian Rush,John Barnes,Peter Beardsley,Phil Thompson and Ian St. John. And no i am not a Liverpool Fan. Just an admirer of good players from whatever team they come. I am actually a Watford fan so i had to avoid my natural bias to John Barnes to do this :))

Liverpool`s Best Player of all time, or can I say Player`s is Jointly WON by Ian Rush & Kenny Dalglish for the past player`s and without any arguement`s STEVEN GERRARD is the BEST Player for the future. And in Year`s to come will be known as the BEST player LIVERPOOL has ever had from 1892 to the Present date of 8th August 2006

iam a "manc" as you put it iasm not going to be a "nob head" as you put it, because i love football as well as manchester united and have observed the sport for many years you were the dominant force in the late seventies and pretty much all of the eighties on and off so it would be easy to pick won of your greats from then like hansen or thompson, but i dont believe its any of them because i believe they were all as good as one another not brilliant but an exellent force together. I will shock most liverpool and manchester united fans when i say in my opinion your best player for talent finishing in and around the box and general brilliance is Robbie Fowler.... i say this because even though you had people that scored more goals than him and facts like that.. but my choice is because in a mediocre liverpool team he carried you through the ninetees scoring some amsing goals along the way the best finisher the premiership has ever seen and will ever see a pitty he was injured when he left you but no he has come back for free and he has forced some of your expensive talents off the bench my choice Robbie Fowler.

It's really hard to pinpoint one because I love them all!
Well, I mean all those who played for Liverpool with passion and heart! Keagan, King Kenny, Rushie & Steven G etc are obviously greats of LFC but there were different players at different time to make this club so special!
A lot of MU fans (as well as others) are so jealous of our success but there are also rational ones. It's all about respect! I Love LFC but I still respect other clubs' effort and success. It's a game and there has to be win or lose. The winner has the right to celebrate but it doesn't mean the ones behind are worthless. These players played for months to get the result and I salute all of those who play with passion and professionalism and not 'just' money.

Dalgish scored the winner in 1978 European Cup Final. That takes some beating, plus he guided them to their first ever double.
He probably will edge Emelyn Hughes, Ian St John, Alan Kennedy, Phil Neal, Phil Thompson, Ian Rush and Kevin Keegan.
But I reckon Alan Hansen would give him a real fight as Liverpool's greatest.

Kenny was good, bot not as good as Kevin Keegan. When they beat us (Wolves) in 77 it was men against boys. Clemence, Neale, Hughes, Joey Jones, Ray Kennedy, Heighway, Cormack,Toshack, Phil Thompson, Callaghan, Keegan & Tommy Smith , Jimmy Case & Fairclough on the bench. A match for Chelsea or Utd today! Has to be Kevin Keegan.
