Not sure where you are that you think there is an overflow of elementary teachers. We have been looking for at least 40 within my district this year alone! If you are a bilingual ed teacher you have an advantage as well. Go for your certificate and teach a while. The nice thing is, if you find you don't like it, that degree won't hurt you in getting something else. There are all kinds of avenues to go with a teaching credential.

I don't want to sound bad, but it seems you are trying to put too much on your plate. If you are going for your masters, you already have your bachelors in something. Yes, there is a major excess of elem ed teachers in some places. In the south, it seems that schools are in need of teachers throughout the year. Do you want to teach a bilingual class? That makes you more desired. What about psychology do you want to do in teaching? Although it isn't "officially" part of the job, theres quite a bit of psychology in the day to day life of a teacher. Kids come with some major baggage nowadays.

Have you thought about becoming a school psychologist? There is a need. Bilingual Ed. teachers are in very high demand in California and Arizona. As a teacher myself, figure out what you want to do and go for it.

I am still in school to be a teacher, but my advice is to find an academic advisor in your college's education department and ask for help. You can even try your college's psychology department.
