when my 4 month old is placed on her back 8 times out of 10 she spits-up clear fluid it doesn't seem to matter how long ago she has feed is this normal

You should keep her upright for a while after feeding. I am going through the same thing right now. There is a formula called AR Lipil made by Enfamil. It worked wonders for my daughter. It is for babies who spit-up frequently.

That's her slobber she's spitting up. Or a little stomach acid. My 8-month old (actually all my of 3 children) does that also.

Does your child have allergies? My youngest used to throw up the phlegm he had swallowed. He did not feel ill either before or afterwards.

You might want to make sure she burps after every feeding. Consult your pediatrician.

It is probably acid. Ask the Dr if she seems to cry with it.

Yep, very normal. Be glad it is not all her food.
