Cut them back as hard as you can. Dig in and damage roots as much as possible and then treat the roots with salt. Make sure you get all of the off shoots from the main plants.
Repeat the salt treatment for a couple of years longer than you think you should and eventually the bush will have been vanquished.

Who would want to get rid of them? I like to stand around one and eat the fruit. Ok, hmmmm. I would say either get a really good pair of gardener gloves and some good long sleeved shirt on get in there and pull that sucker straight out of the ground without getting the thorns stuck in ya, or maybe call a specialist like a stump remover or someone who deals in removing vegitation from people's yards. Maybe try looking in the yellow pages of your phone book? Hope that helped.

You need to dig the roots out. You'l never get rid of blackberry bushes/brambles completely, as the seeds are transported in wild bird poo

Poor blackberries. I know sometimes they can get out of hand. Try cutting them to the ground and putting roundup on them. By next spring they'll be dead.
You might want to consider just cutting them back. The birds love blackberries!

Because they have so many roots that will spread all over, I would recommend to spray salt water on the plant everyday for a week, one pound of salt to a galon of water.
Why do you want to get rid of such a delicious fruit?

Get a chemical called "Remedy" from your
locale Agriculture chemical dealer and spray
them. The dealer can tell you the rate you will
need to use. Remedy is the best to kill black-
berrys with.

If the roots run into your garden from a neighbour's garden like mine do, there is little you can do. If you keep cutting them down every year at least you can keep them in one area.
