The ones I meet are uniformly uninformed - it's amazing, they've got all these strongly-held opinions but are completely flummoxed when confronted with facts. It throws them off completely and we have to change the subject to something like the weather! They are actually unable to carry on a coherent conversation about politics.
Now, a very few of them are very well-informed and it's a joy to discuss politics with them!

Do you really want an answer or just need someone to support your agenda?
The latter I suppose.
Is Shiraz...
mentally weak, brainwashed, easily duped or just uninformed? Or all of the above?

As a moderate I chose to support the democratic party because it is the 'lesser of two evils' the republicans have bankrupted the government AND given tax break to the rich. Before World War II and since the creation of the country only the rich were taxed. it is the Republican party that i blam for the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer. As a nation of unpreceeded wealth and power it is heart breaking to think that over 30% of the population is living below the poverty line.

i am an unrepentant optimist. i believe everything has improved with time and effort, so i think there are always things we can put our energies into. i can list benefits i enjoy directly due to my government... it can do great things. i am not an anarchist or a communist but i do believe that america has been built by her citizens. she can be destroyed by them too if they are apathetic or ignorant enough.
that's it. i'm as informed as i can be, and i am sincere in my convictions as i'm sure you are. why do you believe democrats are easier to dupe than republicans or others? aren't they still people?

They are less religious, so less brainwashed and thus they need to think for themselves what makes them mentally strong. They don't watch just Fox so they can only be better informed.

why do you just throw around propaganda with nothing to support it?
I've seen the Democrats produce MUCH more evidence to support their opinions than the Bush administration... everything that they use as evidence is from "enemy generals" and other similar untrustworthy sources...

No, we're mentally-open, in-touch with reality, we don't fall for propaganda. The media feeds us crap, but we're well-informed.
