i know many peeps who do this and its not right! Like many family members and friends!

Some people do it out of fear of hurting someone elses feelings and instead of turning them down they just let the person continue having feelings for them and play into them because they don't want to hurt them. On the other hand some people do it because they are cruel and derive some sort of power over having control of someones emotions or they maybe using that person for material gain. Maybe you should talk to the people you know like this and find out why and see if you can get them to change. I'm sure they wouldn't want the same thing to happen to them.

B/c they're can't make a decision about the person. Usually it's b/c they're not really sure what they want. So, they think it's a better idea 2 stay in the relationship & figure things out than tell the person they need time 2 think. They may also be afraid 2 hurt the person's feelings.

Sometimes they are unsure of what the want to do with the person. Other times they loike the person but not in that way and don't want to hurt the other persons feelings.
