Yes, there are quite a few. Go to a bookstore and get a copy of a magazine called "Practical Horseman". In the classified section there are tons of ads for both high schools and colleges.

To your first question, I'd agree with most of the others that already answered; most people are under the age of 18 and don't really know any answers to what should be basic horse info, and/or the question has been asked so many times that it gets really repetitive always answering it. Also, if I think someone has already done a good job of answering the question I see no real need to repeat the answer over again unless I think that something(s) were left out or there might be a better/different way to explain it. Sometimes it helps to explain the same thing several different ways as it helps people better understand it-just my thoughts on the matter. What I've been taught, in college and by other farriers, is that the ideal angle to trim a horse's hoof at is between 48-55 degrees or as close to the shoulder & pastern angle as possible. I don't know about QH's being trimmed any different; most of the horses around here are either QH, TB, paints, and mustangs, and all get their feet trimmed as stated above-even the ones being shown or raced. What color...that's a hard one! I bought myself a hot pink rope halter even though all I have currently are boys. I figured that the hot pink halter was less likely to get 'legs' and run off on me when it was at a barn where there are many people, horses, and halters than would a regular black one since pink is more of a 'chic' colored halter. Besides, who said geldings don't/can't look good in hot pink? Lol...

HI i've heard all the uc's in california do that and also some special private colleges for equine studies. There are tons. There are also a few for K-12 the only one i know of is in toronto though and its called bethany college or something but its for like Grades K-12 i THINK definitely high school though. There are definitely schools in the usa just like that. I hope this helps!

Do you mean like a boarding school for elementary-12 grade? There are a few and though I cant think of the name of the one in Connecticut that I know of, I can tell you to buy an issue of Horse Illustrated and check the classifieds. They do advertise in there. If you mean college, there are quite a few around. i went to Lake Erie College in Ohio.

I recently checked out a book at my local regional library called "Horse Schools". It's FULL of horse schools in the USA , and there is a section with international horse schools. I'd try to get it from your library (since it costs nothing!), but I'm sure bookstores like Barnes and Nobles carry it also. I can get the author's name if you'd like, I just can think of it on the top of my head.
Good luck!

Findlay University is one...I considered going there. At the time they had an English and Western separate "campus" of sorts, but it is an equestrian college that caters to horse owners.
