this sounds like an emo question... do you mean if you feel empty are you still alive or are you just a shell?
The only proof that you need to show that you are alive is yourself. If you are feeling empty and dead inside, you just need to find something to revive yourself to light you up again, most likely... it's closer than you would know.
Hopefully that made some sense.

We don't know that you are alive. You could be someone else. And your proof would have to be something that we could verify with a person or party known to us. For example:
I claim to be Joe Schmoe. Do you know me? Probably not. So, I get John Wannabe to say "yes, that's him." So, do you know John Wannabe? For this proof to work, we would have to know the person vouching for you.
There could be proof that you were born - a notorized birth certificate. And a social security card might show that you were still alive (Social Security Administration has a death record database). But that would be if your death were reported.
Hummm..... so - are you, you?

You might need proof that your not dead, I know, I know that sounds crazy, but your more likely to be asked for proof that your not dead than for proof that your alive, you work that out because I can't and I have a friend who was asked to prove that recently.

I would say that as long as you have a pulse and your heart is beating, and you are able to type on your keyboard then that is a pretty good sign that you're alive and kickin'. If either one of those ever gets to where you can't tell it's working, then by all means, go to the hospital because something is wrong, -especially if your heart stops for more than a day. *takes a bow and runs off*

I had to sign a proof form like this for a friend as he gets a pension - so I had to provide proof he was alive - so pension scheme was not getting ripped off of course.

You need proff to show that the person that you cliam to be is alive. Whether you are alive is almost irrelevant as it is you that is doing the asking. However, should you claim to be Julius Cseaser, then yes, I'd like proof.

There's a French poem that goes along the lines 'when I was alive I used to put my hand over a candle flame so I knew I was alive. now I am dead, I no longer want to put my hand over the candle flame.'
I have always thought this was a bit spooky.
Probably if you ask a question and you are able to log on to read the replies you are probably alive, probably

Why do you feel the need to validate your existence? I feel that through times of love, joy and triumph, people tend not to ask this question...yet through lifes tribulations, it's a constant query. I think this is because it is the good things such as love that provide you with a true feeling of fulfilment and therefore true existence. On the contrary, misery brings a feeling of detachment....the kind that subconsciously makes us question not if 'we're here' ...but if we really 'want to be here'. Positivity and negativity both have tremendous effects on ones psyche!

The fact that you typed that question into Yahoo! Answers gives you proof that you are alive, iIf you want it (not that you need it). So, the answer would be "no."
