I am having pretty bad menstrual cramps and they really hurt. I have already taken two Advil and used a hot water bottle, and it's not helping. I am sure these are menstrual cramps and not something else. So please help me!

Drink a cup of pennyroyal tea every 4 hrs. Pennyroyal is an herb related to mint that can induce contraction, helping your menses. It also can relieve the discomfort. YOu might also try taking an Immodium AD tablet. It is an anti-diarrheal, yes, but it alos can ease abdominal cramping and discomfort... I really feel for ya, sis. This happened to me only last month...

Be sure and avoid caffeine. Exercise also helps, which seems ironic because the last thing you want to do when you're hurting is exercise, but it may be worth a try.

If the cramps are really really very bad, you could have endometrosis. I would talk to your ob/gyn about the pain you go through each month.

Try Aleve instead. Your doctor could also put you on low-dose birth control pill to lessen your menstral period and hopefully less cramps.

Get exam to make sure you don't have something else going.

Hope you feel better.

Awww... I really feel bad for you, I know how you feel. I usually try Midol, it works sometimes, but when they are unbearable, I actually take Alka Seltzer to ease my pain. It helps me when my cramps are at their worst.
