for competitive swimming, it's pretty much speedo or bust. if you're under ten or not at all serious about swimming, wear whatever you want. but if you want to swim for real, you should definitely have a reason to wear a jammer if you're going to have one on. for practice they're completely inappropriate, since they'll restrict some hip movement. for meets, only wear one if you fell it will make you faster in your. don't wear it for breaststroke. if you wear jammers just because you feel uncomfortable in a speedo, you might switch to another sport, since for all purposes it's the universal swimming uniform. not wearing a speedo also will get you ridiculed in most teams.

if you're just looking for a suit to wear when lounging at the pool or beach with you family, by all means get a pair of swim trunks.

regular swimsuits? do you mean the ones for girls or do you mean swim trunks? well.. i think jammers are better than speedos because.. you know.... and i think swim trunks just for recreation swimming cuz if you swim competative with swim trunks, it gonna slow you down...speedos make you swim the fastest tho

we'll i wouldn't wanna see a guy at the pool in jammers or a speedo unless he is training. and jammers are nice because would you rather see an old man in a speedo or jammers? most would say jammers! on the other hand, if its a young man in a speedo, i totally wouldn't mind! ;-)

well, jammers are better for men with a lot of hair in the private area, but are more restrictive than speedos. swim truncks, are bassically heavy when you swim, so i don't like it. overall, i prefer speedos, because i dont have a lot of hair in that area, and its more comfy

Well, they're probably good for competitive swimmers. But I myself wouldn't want to be seen in them, even though I would prefer them over Speedos.

They cover more of the body and they are relatively cheap. I used to use them all the time. I recommend them.
