Cyndi Lauper, because she is the true definition of a musician between the two of them.... Don't get me wrong, I like Madonna, too, but it's bad not to admit that she relies on shocking things every time she releases her new material..... and some of you are saying that Madonna has staying power, well, the answer for that is because it's what the PUBLIC wants, Cyndi was hotter than Madonna during their first appearances, because her style appeals to what the public wants, but after the release of True Colors, A Night to Remember, and A Hat Full of Stars, the albums that showed Cyndi's MATURE side, her old fans turned their backs against her.... but that shows what a TRUE musician is, every musician has the NEED and RIGHT to mature. Unlike Madonna, she does what the public wants her to do, unlike Cyndi, she does what she wants to do because it's her.... just the plain her....
Why don't you try and give a listen to Cyndi's song, "I'm Gonna Be Strong" included in her anthology album, Twelve Deadly Cyns...and Then Some.... It containbs her best vocals to date, it is a song that would make Madonna cry in shame for she relies on her backup musicians.......

That's a good question. They are both beautiful, strong, outspoken women. Neither are afraid of controversy. Every little girl wanted to be Cyndi or Madonna. I always wanted to be Cyndi.. I even had a red headed cabbage patch doll I named Cyndi!! But Madonna has made such an impact on music!! Now I'm confused! OK.. eany, meany, miny, moe!! I choose Cyndi Lauper!

I have to pick Cyndi Lauper, because although Madonna keeps reinventing herself, Cyndi is a joy to see every time I see her. When she appears on sitcoms in bit parts, she is beautiful and hilarious. But I totally agree that both are amazing.

Madonna of course. She has been here for well over 20 years and is still going strong, releasing an album and going on tours every two to three years. She is a regular spokeperson for major fashion brands and an author of a series of children books.
Cyndi is a good singer but it takes more to be a star, especially one that can stay on top of the chart for over two decades. Cyndi was hot in the 80s, then her popularity nosedived. The younger generations do not even know her name.

Cyndi, hands down. She's a true artist who relies on her voice and genuine personality, not shock value, which is really all Madonna has ever had to offer. Don't get me wrong- She's had some catchy songs, but as for any real talent or beauty? No, sorry. She can dance, that's about it. Cyndi is simply not a commercial artist, and I respect her immensely for not bending to the media. Madge, on the other hand, seems to have everyone wrapped around her greedy little finger. Not appealing.

Cyndi Lauper, without question. Madonna is great and all but I could never see the big deal.

I prefer Cyndi Lauper, hands down. She was my idol as a child, I love her music (well, not her new stuff as much) and style. Although me and Madonna have the same birth date, so she's okay for that....but Cyndi Lauper's better.
