Find a nice log cabin somewhere secluded and all sit around a log fire and watch movies or tell stories.

Make cookies, make gifts, go out and see the lights.
Is there a zoo around where you live? Sometimes, zoos will have lights around and a Santa for the kids. It's usually not too expensive.

Watch tv specials together. Sing songs while you make cookies and treats. Decorate the tree together- put on some fun music and go at it.

Visit friends around holiday time. Take the cookies you made with you.

Go to the mall and visit Santa. Make a day of it. Go to the stores and let the kids buy 1 gift- you set the price.

Buy gifts for the "giving tree" in your church or in the mall. The gifts don't have to be "big" just a way of showing the kids that everyone needs help at Christmastime.

Check your newspaper and watch the local news. Sometimes local businesses, etc. will advertise special Christmas events. They usually don't cost very much. Check your local public library, too. Libraries offer lots of free programs.

good luck and have fun

Well, the boys are at two completely different ages... 14 and 9 really are so different when it comes to believing and such. BUT... a Christmas Party for the three of you would be fun! Decorate the tree, bake goodies, maybe take a ride somewhere to look at lights.

My greatest memories of Christmas as a child were getting in the car and driving around looking at lights! We did it every year and now I drag my fiance around looking at them every year!

For me personally, I would say a sleigh ride or one of those big lights displays.

Your best bet is to check out one of the Michigan tourism web sites, especially when it gets closer to December. You can usually find special holiday events or attractions in your area.

Good luck!
