I'm 15. Ok lately there have been stories on the news about stupid a.s.s. kids going off and meeting people that the've met on myspace and whatnot. I have a myspace and would never even dream of doing something as stupid as that. I know all of my friends on there(with the acception of at least 10 people that I know aren't dangerous to me). Yea and I come on here too. So every time I get on the computer my parents are always on my back "What are you doing?" "Who are you talking to?" And half the time it really is nobody (unless I'm on here) but they still don't believe me. and they're always like "You know we can keep track of who you're talking to." and I'm just like wtf?! I'm not talking to some 40 year old perverted man. I know my parents really love me and they do it for my protection, but it's just really annoying! Talking to them does didley, bcuz they just don't listen!!!

This is one of those things you will never fully understand until you are a parent. They are trying to protect you and you want to be independent. Those are both life facts. Regardless of who you think you are talking to you don't really know. I am at a keyboard )(but where?). I am talking to you (and you don't know me from Adam). I could be a predator (I'm not). I could be 15 or 65 or 23 (I'm none of those). You DON'T know who you are talking to. I would be glad that mom and dad were keeping an eye on things. Teens often trust way too much on the internet.

Your parents are doing their job. If you have nothing to hid give them your myspace password and let them sign on or suggest that they get a myspace and then they can look at your myspace and at all your friends. I'm a parent of a 17yr old and I did just that. I applaude your parents.

Sorry to tell you, but your parents are responsible for your well being and they are being good parents by keeping track of who you're talking to. Your behaviour is very immature since you don't understand this so now I know why your parents are looking out for you.

I say let them read all your conversations, it apparently seems as if you have nothing to hide. Hiding your personal possesions like scedules and stuff will only make them more curious. Sooner or later, the ywill get bored with it and eventually loosen up. Parents are like that, I know I am, I like to know EVERYTHING..

My parents are that way too. My dad wont let me online unless he is in the house and walking arround. Even if he is taking a nap or mowing the lawn, he wont let me online. Its just a parent thing. You will just have to get used to it like I have.

It takes time for parent to believe in you. I agree with them, you don't really know who you are talking with on the net.
