dont listen to the idiots that say it hurts or anything like that. i was really scared to do it, so i went around to all my friends that had theirs done, and kept askin them if it hurt and they said : it didnt hurt at ALL--it doesnt take 6 mths to heal--and its over fast you dont even know they did it.
well me being somewhat "pain conscious" i doubted what they said but went and got it done anyways.
i was scared and thinking oh my god what am i doin the whole time, but the guy placed a tiny clamp(no pain) on the skin on top of your belly button, then takes a needle and sticks it straight through--again no pain! i was soo surprised and relieved and happy when it was done. soo worth it. i have never experienced any pain at all from it, i even have bumped it a few times and theres a small sting for a few secs and then gone. just clean it like they said and mine is healed at 2 mths.
my friends healed in 6 weeks, and so whatever others are saying they obviously dont know what they are talkin bout!

It's the piece of skin above the belly button. They usually get a clamp that holds the skin ( I believe it helps deaden the skin by stopping circulation) and a curved needle.
Where did everyone get theirs pierced at??? I was my friend's Guinea pig. I went first to see if it hurt or not, and I only felt a touch. No pain; nothing but a touch. No drugs or alcohol was involved either. I guess it all depends on who does it. Too bad all the ones who said it hurt couldn't gone to where I did. lol
If you get it done, do not forget to clean it frequently and turn it "all the time". Go to a professional; don't let just anyone pierce you.

They pierce it at the top of your belly button unless you want it done at the bottom. I didn't think that mine hurt, but everyone feels differently about it. They use a long needle that they stick through the skin then follow it with the ring and pushes the needle out the other side. Hope this helps.

Usually they take pierce it in a chunk of skin along the top edge of your belly button, but some girls have the bottom edge pierced. Yes, it hurts. They use a needle. And it take 6 months to a year to heal, even though you didn't ask...

if you looi at your belly botton they pierce it on the top skin, but if you are really skinny you may not have enough skin on the top one so they they pierce it on the bottom skin. They basically put a clamp between your skin and make a little stencle mark of where they are going to pirece it... then they hook the ring on the other end of the neddle so that when they pierce the stecle mark and take the needle out the ring is already in the hole.
For me it did not hurt, because I only felt the pressure of my skin being clamped together. Thats about it... good luck

The top part of the belly button, unless you request the bottom part. It does hurt, but not terribly bad. I would only suggest not to tighten up when they do it. I did because I was nervous and when I stood up it hurt to stand up straight. I guess the muscles down there got weird or something. Relaxing is the key.
Get your nose done! That's fun, haha.
Oh, and the thing they peirce it with is a hollow tube thing, just a hollow needle since the hole needs to be bigger.

I got mine done at a doctor's office when I was 19... He numbed it and pierced it with a fat needle... which required the doctor putting his ENTIRE UPPER BODY WEIGHT onto the needle, because skin is harder to pierce than you think!!!
I heard it's quite uncommon for a doctor to provide this service... And of course no insurance coverage... I just paid the doc like $30 at the end.
I was able to have it numbed with local anesthesia so that was a huge plus. I didn't do it for the pleasure of pain, but for the fasion factor.
Good luck!!!

Duh, they pierce your belly button, yes it hurts and they use a big clap to hold it in place, then stick a hugh needle in it, pull it back out, then stick the belly ring in it and hook it, then it WILL stay infected for about 1 year. Good luck.
