I have a 10x10 (second floor) apartment patio that gets about 4-5 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Potted Banana, or Mango trees would work. Hibiscus, or other palms like Sago of Fan.

You could put a bougainvillea.

If you want veggies, tomato, cuke, lots to choose from.

grow potted euphorbia milii plants, they have assorted bright colors and loves the sun very much, they're easy to grow and are very beautiful in second floor verandas when they're lined up and full of flowers, for help and other informations on growing this type of dry season plants you can join the forum crown_of_thorns@yahoogroups.com you will enjoy these plants

plumbago, sweet william, and one that starts off espar...something it has yellow trumpet shaped flowers on it. if you live in corpus go down to fox or to gill's nursery. they should help you more.
