I think it is a tie btw Kentucky & South Carolina- no matter where you go in those states you see people where Clemson/ USC and UK/ U of L stuff everywhere. Cars in those states also become bill boards for their favorite college teams

I am from Louisville and I would have to say South Carolia is a second to Kentucky. Not only do we have two great basketball programs the Uof L football team will be in the top 5 in the country. The season tickets for UK and UL are all sold and they have been handed down for years. DOWNSIDE......UofL lets season ticket holders sit next to the court for basketball so old people who dont really get into the game sit there and leave early. UK can be the same.

Texas has more D-1 programs then any state in the country. Of course, Texas colleges have to compete with professional sports unlike Kentucky and South Carolina. Check the number of D-1 scholarship athletes from the state of Texas. I'm guessing Florida and California are close but I do know that Oklahoma would have a hard time fielding a football team if it weren't for the state of Texas. They just lost two of those Texas boys.
Poetic justice, that's what they get for jumping the river.
See you in Dallas.

Have you ever been to Texas? Texas is the best. The Texas/Texas A&M Rivalry has been going for over 100 years. You seem like a basketball fan with your tie for the best, but if you look at overall sports the University of Texas is the best. In 2005 they won the National Championship in Football and Baseball, look it up, and were in the sweet 16 in basketball. I don't know of a tougher school right now in all of sports.

Michigan. D1-A schools are Oakland University, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Michigan St., U. of Michigan for most major sports. And Grand Valley St. has won several national titles in football. Everyone is crazy about their school up here and we put stickers on our cars too. Then Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, and U. of Michigan have all won hockey national titles. Those hockey games are some of the loudest games in any sport you could go to. Michigan sells out their football games every game for the past 35 years. They have 110,000 capacity stadium. Everyone has their school up here.

You have to be kidding yourselves if you think there is another state out there with better college athletics.
And if you are looking at the Fan participation side of things, no one else compares. The Passion that the fans have for their teams in Florida is unrivaled.
