When I was a child, I usually thought that U.S was a great country, with evoluted people, but since G.W.B. I and all of my friends throw the world lost the respect and consideration to this country.... Bush does know how to make your people be hated and unfortunatly doesn't know how to stop a war..... at least his father did know.

That's nonsense. I travel all over the world and have encountered NO hatred, hostility, etc. Are we clear, here? NONE, NADA, ZIPOLA - it's a lie with a specific purpose.

This notion that we're hated is a political ploy of the left. In their world, to like others and be liked by others is very important. Sort of like the kindergarten teacher who says "Come on, now, children, let's all get along together." So when they say we're disliked around the world this is supposed to be a "crisis". Baloney!

So, the European intelligentsia feels threatened by some of our policies and makes a fuss - big deal! They've got (and know they've got) more than enough problems of their own without worrying too much about us.

As for the real people out there - they're pretty much just like you and me and they behave that way when you meet them.

The government of the United States has been responsible for a horrific number of murders, tortures, and all kinds of oppression all over the world, for more than a century.

Now that we have a government, in its SECOND term that has been even more destructive than we usually are (and the perception is that these freaks were elected by us, and then re-elected by us -- which I maintain is false), people have good reason to be cranky.

The US has overthrown or assassinated leaders who were trying to help their people, it has put in place or kept in place some of the most brutal and oppressive governments, and now the US ambassador to the UN openly says that, because we're stronger than anyone else, we have the right to do anything we want, and the rest of the world has to eat it.

There are other reasons -- such as vetoing every time the UN wants to condemn Israel for its gross violations of human rights and crimes against humanity (the votes are 2 versus the whole rest of the world) -- but those are probably the biggies.

Others include mass murder of Iraqi's (in clear violation of international law), widespread and systematic torture, and the fact that we consume and pollute way, way WAY out of proportion to our population.
